We need to make patients aware, that anyone on a high dose controlled drug will be having the appropriateness of this prescription reviewed, with a view to rapid structured reduction program for the prescribing of these medications. This is a safety initiative supported by modern good practice for chronic non cancer pain management. Repeat prescriptions without review will not be offered.
